VST Suite™ applications – Meals Your Way (MYW), Trays Your Way(TYW), and Patients Your Way(PatYW) – focus on providing safe and accurate patient/resident data to respond to clinical changes appropriately and quickly.
VST Suite™ uses the term, Exceptions, to describe patient/resident changes affecting accurate meals and feeding delivery. Exceptions include diet changes, allergies, medication conflicts, alerts, food dislikes, tray service, interface comments, and ADTs (Admission, Discharges, and Transfers).
Paperless Exceptions offer real-time updates to patient/resident information prior to tray ticket print and delivery of the meal. The Food & Nutrition team can visually identify Exceptions as they occur, through the various stages of meal/feeding delivery:
Dashboard View – The MYW & TYW dashboards use a light-red color to indicate Exceptions for menu selections. Staff can resolve the exception/selections prior to ticket printing, and/or receive alerts during the assembly and cart loading process to act quickly as needed. The intervention provides safety and accuracy every step of the way.
Auto-House Menus – When selections are generated for each meal, any Exceptions are flagged in the same light-red color for potential conflicts. Staff may accept, modify, or reject exceptions prior to ticket printing. Note that selection modifications are tracked historically in the archive.
Tray Tracking/Delivery – When Exceptions are received for after a tray ticket prints, delivery personnel are alerted when a diet is changed/NPO, and if patient is transferred or discharged.
