Cheeseburgers come with all kinds of seasoning, fillings, choices of meats, and sizes. We honor Cheeseburger Day by providing a recipe for Mexican “Fiesta” Burgers, big and bold in flavor, served with toppings such as guacamole, salsa, onions, and cheese.
Mexican Fiesta Cheeseburgers
1-¼ Lb. 90% Ground Beef
1 Large Egg
¼ Cup Cornmeal
¼ Cup Cilantro, Chopped
1 Tsp. Garlic & Onion Powder
½ Tsp (smoked) Paprika
½ Cup Thick/Chunky Salsa
½ Tsp Cumin
½ Cup Grated Cheese
½ Tsp Salt
3 Tbsp Diced Green Chilies
¼ Tsp Black Pepper
Fresh Guacamole Fresh Tomato Slices
Grilled Onions Lettuce Leaves
Cheddar Cheese Slices Extra Salsa
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together with a wooden spatula. Take care not to over handle.
- Shape into 4 or 6 patties and grill to desired doneness (medium recommended).
- Serve with toppings as desired.
