It is generally recognized by Foodservice and Nutrition Care Managers that automation contributes significantly to optimally functioning foodservice and nutrition care operations - both quality and expenses.  The use of any automation system results in an increase in a department's "Software" monthly budgetary line item.  However, this is counterbalanced by a reduction in food and labor expense per meal.  Industry research indicates that the percent reduction is at least 10 percent.

This document assists in calculating the net savings realized as a result of implementing a foodservice/nutrition care automation system.
