NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT TOOL
The Nutritional Assessment Tool tracks patient information,
including laboratory data and physical parameters, relevant to nutritional
status. It analyzes these data and generates information to assist
in assessing a patient's nutritional status. Values of transferrin,
arm muscle circumference, energy expenditure, required kilocalories/
kilojoules, protein requirements, etc., are calculated. The individual
patient's values are compared to age and sex matched standards,
and deficiencies are noted. When used in conjunction with the VST
Diet History Tool, specific values calculated for individual patients
are transferred to and stored in the patient's Diet History record.
